Frequently Asked Questions

  • Where are the classes taught?
    All night and weekend classes are taught at Metro Southeast 1417 Murfreesboro Pike, (Genesco Park), Nashville, TN. 37219 (click here for a map). 
  • What will happen if I am late to class?
    You will not be admitted to class.  You will need to call 862-8345 and reschedule your class.  There is a $20 rescheduling fee.  After January 1, 2006, all students who miss their class will have to pay their ticket.
  • Can I use my bond money to pay for class?
    No.  The bond money was to allow you to reschedule your court date.  That money will be returned to you by the Traffic Violations Bureau after you attend class.
  • Can I bring my children to class with me?
    No.  The Traffic School does not have adequate facilities for children during the 2-8 hours you are in class.  Children in class for long periods of time are disruptive to the learning process of the other students.
  • Can my parents attend class with me?
    If, there is sufficient room in the class after all of the students have been seated, except for the A-25 and ADD-8 classes. These are intensive interactive small discussion classes and only the students and instructor(s) are permitted in the classroom.
  • How can I pay for the class?
    You may pay for the class by cash, check or money order.
  • What if I do not have the money by class time?
    You will not be admitted to class.  Rescheduling is necessary.  See question #2.
  • Can I eat or drink while in the classroom?
    No.  Food and drink are not allowed in the building.  Additionally, all public building are smoke free, therefore, smoking is not allowed in the building.
  • Can I bring my cell phone or pager with me to class?
    Yes, but they must be turned off during class.  They may be used during breaks.
  • What if I have an emergency and have to leave class?
    You will need to reschedule.  See question #2.
